Measure muscle movements
Gain insights into muscle activation with EMG
Investigate how muscles correspond with emotions
Electromyography (EMG) records the movement of our muscles through bursts of electrical activity generated by muscle contractions.
Use EMG to not only better understand muscular movements and activity, but also to investigate their association with certain emotions and behavioral outcomes, including through sensitive measurements of facial muscles with facial electromyography (fEMG).
The iMotions EMG module
The iMotions EMG Module integrates multiple EMG devices from BIOPAC and Shimmer for flexible data collection options. For example, with iMotions you can monitor EMG from several muscle groups around the body at the same time, or open up even more possibilities by pairing with the iMotions API or other biosensors. The flexible software connects, records, and live visualizes data, and is a complete experimental suite for EMG.
Plug & Play EMG sensors integrated with iMotions
Portability and accessibility for research methods
The Applied Psychology Department at Force Technology complements traditional survey results with mobile and moment-to-moment data from biosensors to provide objective findings for their clients.
Combine biosensors and uncover underlying emotions and responses
The iMotions software combines EMG naturally with other biosensors like eye tracking and facial expression analysis to efficiently unpack human emotions and physiological responses. Click on an icon to learn more about the biosensor module.
