Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG)
Measure the behavior of the heart
Measure heart rate activity
Get closer to understanding the heart
Electrocardiogram (ECG, or also called EKG) can be used to provide information about a participant’s psychophysiological status, reflected in their heart rate activity.
Collecting this high-quality ECG data includes measuring Heart Rate Variability, which can be associated with the level of physiological or psychological stress (or conversely, calm) that an individual is experiencing.
The iMotions ECG module
The iMotions ECG Module enables researchers to seamlessly conduct studies and validate results faster. Bring ECG data natively into the software using ECG hardware from BIOPAC and Shimmer, and open up even more possibilities with the iMotions API. The flexible software connects, records, and live visualizes data, and is a complete experimental suite for ECG.
The ECG and EMG modules are offered as part of the same package
Plug & Play ECG sensors integrated with iMotions
Technology deployed in a fraction of the time compared to previous sensor solutions
iMotions helped Texas A&M University complete the integration and synchronization of multiple sensors, which was not previously possible in their lab.
Combine biosensors and uncover underlying emotions and responses
The iMotions software combines ECG naturally with other biosensors like eye tracking and facial expression analysis to efficiently unpack human emotions and physiological responses. Click on an icon to learn more about the biosensor module.
