• New Video Segment Detection added for stimuli, with optional automated segment description creation. A video segment is defined as a continuous recording within a video. Abrupt changes in the frame content are detected as the end of one segment and the start of next segment. Video Segment Detection works best with commercials, movies, trailers, or other videos that contain sharp cuts, edits, or changes in perspective between video segments.

• We made some stability and speed improvements to the Gaze Mapping editor
• If single timestamps are off, they are now excluded from signal processing. This could previously happen in rare cases, and would then lead to unrealistically classified gaze events

Feature additions

• You can now create studies with web surveys and test plans
• You can now include open text fields in web surveys generated with iMotions’ inbuilt survey tool
• We added metadata to the summary metrics exports, allowing you to identify the device used for data collection as well as the R notebook with which you processed the data. Data from multiple devices of the same modality are now organised in columns instead of rows. Because of this change, you might experience a longer load time the first time you open an already existing analysis

• We fixed a bug with survey templates
• We fixed an issue with parameter choices deviating from the default of some notebooks not being applied. If you created a new analysis in iMotions 9.0.8 through 9.0.11 using the EEG frontal asymmetry and GSR epoching notebooks, we recommend that you re-run the signal processing with this version
• We fixed an issue with the Advanced Segmentation not being shown when first respondent is untested

EEG

• We integrated the latest ABM B-Alert SDK, v.02.04.04.00 which offers a new metric, the Mu rhythm. This also fixes a disconnect issue during the impedance check. If you are currently connecting data, we recommend to first update once your study is completed

Feature additions

• Are you using iMotions Online Data Collection? If yes, do you work with surveys? If yes, you may be happy to hear that you are from now on able to create survey stimuli with iMotions’ own survey tool rather than having to rely on embedding an online link into your study
• You can now segment respondents based on the eye tracking gaze calibration quality

• We fixed a bug that accidentally cleared the selection of some parameters of the EEG notebook when changing other parameters
• We solved a problem that could cause the eye tracking exports to fail
• We fixed an issue that could lead to strongly increased import times for Pupil Invisible data

Feature additions

• You can now define what type of device you connected over LSL
• Online Data Collection studies will now always have to run in a 1920×1080 resolution
• The Metadata in your SensorData export now contains even more information about units, the nature of the signal, as well as a categorization of your channels. If you are using the channel identifier for your scripts, we recommend that you double check the headers in case they got changed (for data collected after this change)
• You can now start a Tobii Glasses 3 recording directly from iMotions and download data from the recording unit over WiFi
• Viewpointsystem Glasses are now spelled correctly in the UI
• The Smart Eye Pro Real Time Clock data is now available in iMotions as well as the exports
• When exporting sensor data, you can now see when a respondent recording was started in milliseconds since 1/1/1970 (Unix time in ms)
• You can now use data quality indexes to segment your respondents when creating an analysis

• We polished some details in the Signal Processing UI
• We fixed an issue that could lead the AOI metrics export to fail
• Stimulus Annotations are now also included in the exports even if the stimulus ends before the end of the Stimulus Annotation

Eye Tracking

• We fixed a small issue with the importer of Pupil Core data, making it more robust to missing data in the glasses’ files
• We improved the stability of the web camera eye tracking algorithm for Online Data Collection
• We fixed a Smart Eye Aurora/AI-X connectivity issue for PCs used by more than one user, which occurred if not all of them had the Smart Eye Tracker/Setup Tool software installed

Facial Expression Analysis

• Updated data will now be applied automatically if you post process facial coding data after having run the thresholding notebook
