GPS

Track location, movement and speed to understand how people navigate environments, interact with places, and behave in real-world contexts.

Capture real-world movement and location during behavioral studies

The iMotions GPS Module allows researchers to integrate satellite-based positioning data directly into iMotions Lab.

By recording precise location, speed, and movement trajectories, researchers can analyze how people behave and navigate in real-world environments while synchronizing this data with other biometric signals.

This enables powerful field studies in areas such as mobility research, urban behavior, sports science, and human factors.

The iMotions GPS Module enables researchers to:

  • Record location, speed, and course data as time-series signals during experiments
  • Receive navigation data from satellite positioning systems including GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo
  • Connect compatible devices using the NMEA communication protocol via USB
  • Visualize participant movement paths directly inside iMotions using map services such as OpenStreetMap
  • Synchronize GPS data with biometric signals like eye tracking, GSR, EEG, or motion capture

By combining location data with behavioral and physiological signals, researchers gain a richer understanding of how people move, react, and interact with real-world environments.
